Halifax noisemakers North Of America reunited for a couple of reunion shows this past weekend, including a stop at the Silver Dollar in Toronto. While all accounts of the Montreal show indicated that it was an awesome set, there is no way it could have beaten the nearly two hour performance given to us Torontonians. The band was in high spirits throughout the night, laughing off all technical difficulties, missed chords and dropped drumsticks, and the crowd was all smiles. The quintet (featuring original member J. Lapointe) played songs from every area of their career and rocked well past last call, with the final song ending around 2:30 in the morning. Sure, the Montrealers got Rockets Red Glare, but you can’t beat a mammoth reunion set like this one.
