The Constantines played their fourth and final anniversary show at Lee’s Palace last Saturday, and judging by their two-and-a-half hour long set, it was definitely the gig to beat last week. The setlist catered to longtime fans as the boys ripped out old favourites like “National Hum,” “No Ecstasy,” and “Tank Commander,” plus live rarities “Dirty Business” and “On To You.” Highlights included Feist joining the band on stage for their cover of “Islands In The Stream,” and the rousing closer “Hyacinth Blues” segueing into Lou Reed’s “Temporary Thing.” An unbelievably strong set by arguably the greatest band in Canada.
